Luke 19 records for us the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. As the people were ascribing to Him the glory of His name, the religious leaders became incensed. They demanded that the people stop. Jesus calmly said that if they were silenced, the rocks would immediately cry out!
Every 7 days! The church is certainly more than its weekly gathering, just as the physical body is more than its heart...but where would we be without it?
At City Life, we believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible. In part, that means we believe that God did much more than just inspire the sweeping, defining themes of Holy Scripture. He inspired every word. So in Matthew 16 where Jesus calls what He is about to build "ekklesia," we believe He meant it! Of all the words Jesus could have chosen, He chose the word that translates "assembly." Most Bibles today appropriately insert the word church but reminding ourselves on occasion of the original language helps to keep the whole truth fresh in our hearts.
Assembling together has always been at the heart of the church, and it certainly is for us here at City Life. There are a multitude of ministries working together every Saturday to make our time together deeply impacting. The Saturday Life Team (SLT) is devoted to making sure that all these ministries are in full cooperation, remaining individually focused but also corporately connected!
We work hard to keep things running smooth on Saturdays because of what is at stake. At City Life, we talk a lot about creating a crowd. In the opening chapters of the book of Acts, there is an undeniable correlation between the church being faithful in gathering and God being faithful to move with power in their midst. Let's gather to create a crowd every Saturday...God can't wait to move with power as we do!
If you ever have a need on Saturday, just look for one of the SLT members who can be found anywhere from the parking lot, foyer, or the sanctuary...we're here to help!

Margins. Authenticity. Friendship. Accountability. Seasons. These are all words that have great meaning in relation to the Life Group ministry at TCLC.
If you have been around churches for any amount of time in your past, you know that churches, unfortunately, have a tendency to fracture the very families they are intending to build because of the overwhelming time demands placed on people. At TCLC, we are committed to ensuring that you have a dramatically different experience here, one that is only life-giving and never life-depleting. That's where the word "margins" comes into play. Our Life Groups are on a four-term cycle. February/March is our winter term. May/June is our spring term. July/August is our summer term. October/November is our fall term. You may use the breaks in between sessions to pursue burgeoning friendships, enjoy some much-needed family time, or just simply rest.
Have you ever noticed how your felt needs change throughout the year? What may be a pressing interest in your life now may not be in a few months. Some of life's seasons take years to change, but some change often--and fast! Our groups are designed to offer something relevant every time they meet.
You'll be encouraged to change from one group to the next, even if you don't have changing needs topically. Why? Because we believe in something called cross-connecting our church relationally. There are so many treasures of friendship waiting for you at TCLC, and we don't want you to miss any of them! We all have a tendency to gravitate to such a small group of people. Break out! Find some people you haven't yet met, and enlarge your world of care.Over time, you'll begin to find certain people at TCLC with whom you are growing deep. We want everyone to have a very, very broad base of friendship but eventually have a few trusted people who know us well enough to ask the hard questions (Accountability), and people who we trust enough to give the honest answers (Authenticity).
Here at City Life we love our kids and believe that God has a plan and purpose for each one of their lives! Too often, children are made to feel that they have to wait until they are older before having a vibrant, personal sense of knowing God and being a devoted follower of Jesus. We believe that children have an incredible spiritual capacity, often less encumbered compared to us "big kids." By Jesus' own account found in Matthew 18, we have much to learn from the simplicity of a child's faith.
Our hope is that, regardless of the age of your child, they will be lovingly encouraged forward on their spiritual journey. Whether it be through the prayer of a caring nursery worker holding your infant, to a relevant, dynamic teaching that engages the heart of your elementary schoolers, we want to see your children grow spiritually just as they are naturally growing physically.
Part of our strategy for seeing our children go deeper with God is to invite ages 4 and 5 as well as grades 1 through 6 into the worship portion of our service. There, they have the opportunity to learn how to express their thoughts and feelings to God through music as well as partake in communion the first Saturday of every month (at the discretion of their parent, of course). After announcements, they are dismissed to their respective classes. On Communion Saturday, we pray over all the children and on every Saturday, we cheer for them as they exit, wanting them to learn at an early age what heaven sounds like every day in thinking of them, cheering them towards their perfect destiny!
KidLife is divided into three age groups:
KidLife Care - up to 3 years old. Available during the entire Saturday service.
KidLife Playhouse - ages 4 and 5. Available after worship.
KidLife Workshop - 1st to 6th grade. Available after worship.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Either the contact person on this page or any of our workers on Saturday will be glad to assist you any way we can!
